Race Report:
This was my 2nd year racing Luray.
I like this race a lot (very scenic place, good atmosphere, plenty of RATS, Dave glover doing a great job as Race director,...). Plus we had a great weather.
In brief:
I raced 10mn faster than last year so that's a bit in progression.
As usual, I am still very slow on the swim, average on the bike and do a bit better on the run. I also lost too much time in transition compared to last year (lost 1 mn combined).
So I need to keep working on my swim 1st, bike 2nd and stop taking my time in Transitions. I also need the pair of legs from Dave Cascio that was flying by at 10000 mph on the run...
Total: 2:31:44 (AG 10/40, OM 73/317) AG=Age Group, OM=Overall Men
* Swim: 0:26:24 (AG 19/40, OM 106/317) - 6mn faster than last year but still slow...
* Bike: 1:17:55 (AG 12/40, OM 83/317) - 3:38 faster than last year
* Run: 0:43:28 (AG 8/40, OM 56/317) - 1:47 faster than last year
It was very nice seeing many other RATS during and after the race.
Well done to all of you that participated (Stacy T., Mike T., Kevin K, Kevin S., David C.,...) . and many thanks to the volunteers as usual and the other RATS present (Karen, Nate,...).
Now preping up for Patriot's Half in 3 weeks...
