Swim
Chatted with Keith for a while as we waited to get in the water. Well, it was a big wave over 70 guys. Unfortunately, I ended up in the middle/back of the pack and couldn't get closer to the front. It was the first time I was in the "washing machine" and it was interesting. I didn't panic and was patient when people slowed down or stopped. I found a lane and went for it but knew that my time was going to be slower than I wanted. Lessons learned: move up in the group and warm up better.
T1
I still need to work on this. I am having a hard time getting the wetsuit off and was laughing at myself as I hopped around on one leg trying to pull the thing off.

Bike
I like the bike! Felt great and I was cranking to find the leaders in my wave. Knew something was wrong after counting at least 10 people flatted within the first 2 miles. I thought there was glass on the course. Turns out that someone had spread tacks in the breakdown lane and it took its toll. Caught some of the swimmers on the hills and thought I was in a good position for the run.

T2
I decided to keep my shoes on since I am using Speedplay x3 pedals and had a problem with the shoes coming out at Colonial. I don't think it made much of a difference just put some wear on the cleats.

Run
Well....it was better than Spud.....I was passed by two guys and they were both in my age group which kinda stunk. But overall I was pleased with the result. I did a 7:17 compared to a 7:40 4 weeks ago at Spud. I kept up with the last guy that passed me I even (slightly) sprinted to see if I could catch him close to the line but to no avail. I was about 2 minutes from the podium so I still have work to do. I had a blast seeing Keith and Mike and my other training buddies.
