Name: Scott Weinhold
Location: Vienna, VA
Age Group: Male 50 - 54
About Me: I am a professional musician and I play saxophone for the US Army Band at Ft Myer, VA. IN addition to my Army job I teach at Catholic University and McLean High School, as well as freelance in the area as a saxophonist, woodwind doubler, and arranger.
What I do to pay the bills: play and write music
Who defends the ranch when I'm out training: My wife Martine and my cat Beau.
Short term triathlon goals: beat Mayor Fenty
Long term triathlon goals: podium for AG
Fantasy triathlon goals: qualify for Kona
Three favorite albums: I currently have 1629 albums in iTunes so I'm not sure I could pick a favorite. The older the I get the more I seem only interested in hearing live music. I am open to and enjoy all types of music but I am no doubt, a jazz fanatic.
Favorite book: Right not I'm enjoying Christopher Moore. I guess that I don't really have a favorite. I usually go back and forth from fiction to non-fiction and make sure that I'm always engaged in a book. I have really enjoyed authors like Moore, Tom Robbins, and Kurt Vonegut because they make me laugh out loud. I suppose that Catch 22 is up there among my favorites for that reason.
Favorite movie: There are few movies that I've watched more than once. Apocolyose Now is up there but I don't know if I have one favorite. I also like to laugh and like b-rate comedy and horror. Has any else seen UHF with Weird Al?
Chocolate: dark
Garlic: there's never enough
Blue Cheese: the stinkier the better
For breakfast, I usually have: high-fiber cereal and coffee
After a long day of training, my favorite meal is: Five-guys - not the best choice for health reasons but you asked...
My best triathlon advice is: If you don't find a way to enjoy it why do it?
My best non-triathlon advice is: The journery of 1,000 miles begins with a single step.
What was I thinking when I signed up for my first race: I don't know how to swim, perhaps I should learn!
Everything I need to know I learned from: friends
My deepest, darkest secret is: I used to weigh 275lbs and I have very little confidence in my athletic ability.
