Hi All - I thought it might be time to start this topic. I was thinking the sunny areas might be getting close to ride-able, but the shaded areas around Leesburg and beyong probably not. Not sure about the rest of you, but I'm not sure how many more hours I can take in my basement!
Anyone been on or near the trail, or live close enough they could give the rest of us a report?
Thanks!

The trail is useless for at least another week. All of the crossings by the trail still had at least a foot of snow and on the street corners it was packed up over 6 feet. Parts of the trail between Leesburg and Purcellville are rather low and do not get any sun.
I went out on Sunday for a ride and the roads were in great shape. I waited until 11 for the ice to melt. Harmony Church, Hamilton Station, Loyalty, and Dry Mill were gravel free. It was pretty cool to be out riding when there is still so much snow. Should have taken a pic.

Anyone run or biked enough of the trail to provide an update? I'm planning an long run Sunday and expect it to be clear enough, but would like to know before I set out.

I went out for a run yesterday in Leesburg. Within Leesburg proper and out to Clarke's gap it was runnable but not ride-able. It looks like they plowed it last week. Beyond Clarke's gap, there was still a 4-6 inches of snow across the trail.

I rode a short stint of the trail today from Rt 28 to Claiborne Pkwy, and am happy to report it was ride-able. Almost no snow for that whole stretch. There were 2-3 stretches along that length where some tree damage has narrowed the trail a bit - branches/etc. overhanging. But overall it was in good condition, and I was happy to finally be back outside on my bike!

As of Sunday morning, the WOD was clear from Wheile to the Kennels/Leesburg.
