I've never done this course for the race, although I did the prior one several times when I lived in Connecticut. The race director got in a bit of trouble a couple of years ago for taking USAT insurance money (from non-members at races) but not turning it into USAT. He's back on okay terms with USAT, so this is again a sanctioned event. It should have some hills since it is in the northwestern section of Connecticut. The lake, if I recall, is beautiful. |

Amateur production (2005). No timing chips despite Active charging for it, no race numbers besides body marking, 100 competitors, zero swag besides a horrible t-shirt.
That being said, a very challenging (aka hilly) bike course leading into a nice but rolling hill run course. The lake was crystal clear - the cleanest I've ever swum in.
